Hello Parents,
GBCKidz is making a transition on Sunday mornings! With prayer and planning, I believe God is growing our ministry to new levels.
Here at the GBC, we believe learning about the Bible doesn’t have to be boring, therefore we want to teach the Bible in a creative and relative way. We also value children’s relationships within a group setting as they relate to their leader and other children within the group. We feel as children are placed in a group of familiar faces their relationships can grow!
We currently have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders meeting together in the Zone and 4th and 5th graders meeting together as WIRED. Beginning Sunday, April 7, we are combining all of these kiddos into one group. The morning will kick off with our own worship time utilizing our own sound and graphics. This will be done on the kids level encouraging them to express themselves in a way that would make Jesus proud.
This will lead to our lesson that is coming via a new video-based curriculum with a teacher doing the leading. The Bible is exciting and amazing and we will strive to bring its stories to life through activities and discussions that keep children engaged. We want all children to love God’s word and understand the value of applying it to their lives.
This will lead to breakout sessions into smaller groups where will our leaders will encourage participation.
I believe having our 1st – 5th graders meet together is going to have several benefits for our kids. It is my experience that our older kids are awesome, intelligent, caring kids that can mentor our younger ones and set the good example. I also believe that the large group experience will be a great fun time of fellowship for our kids.
Small groups will continue to meet on Wednesday nights just as they have been. Kids Connection (1st-3rd) and WIRED (4th-5th) will still meet at 6:00p.m. followed by Kids Praise at 6:45.
If you having any questions or concerns about these upcoming changes, please feel free to contact me at church.
Kids love fun! We realize that when children have fun at church, they can’t wait to come back.
Love-Grow-Serve,
Robin
